Whether you are looking to learn the basics of homeopathy or you want to obtain an in depth knowledge of homeopathic remedies, CPH has a course to match your course requirements. Even if you already have extensive homeopathic knowledge - you can still learn how to launch and run your very own successful homeopathic clinic with the cph post graduate course.

Go ahead and find out about:

The Four Year Part Time course (September 2007 - June 2008):

• Minimum of four years attendance to qualify
• Attendance for 10 weekends a year plus one/ two clinic days a month in years two to four
• Runs from 10am -5.30pm Saturday and Sunday
• Involves time to study at home and/or in tutorial groups
• Starts September each year
• Licentiate of College of Practical Homeopathy (LCPH) awarded after successful completion of course

The course involves external study and clinical work, with the emphasis on developing and demonstrating clinical ability.

The course is divided into four levels:

The Foundation Year -The first year is a comprehensive introduction to the whole subject of homeopathy and the understanding of sickness and health. It gives students a clear understanding of the wide range of homeopathic methods and a thorough grounding in the principles of  homeopathy.  It provides unique  introduction and a solid foundation for further study.

Intermediate levels 1& 2 (Second and third year) - These two years are a unit, and provide a solid foundation for professional homeopathic practice at career level. There is a strong element of clinical practice in which the student deals directly with the client as we know this is the best way for the transfer of knowledge into a skill to be realised. This practical approach is backed up by lectures, case studies, and continuous assessment that allows students to develop a clearer and deeper understanding of what is to be cured and how to cure. The clear priority is to provide each student with whatever knowledge, process, insight or experience is needed for them to become a competent homeopathic practitioner in successful professional practice otherwise their investment of time, money, and energy is wasted.

Practitioner Development  – (Fourth year)

After successfully completing the first three years of the course, the student will enter the Practice Development Year.  Uniquely to CPH, this involves them in developing a real world practice, under supervision, as well as continuing to attend teaching weekends and college clinics. The student will have help with clinical problems and practice development, as well as continued teaching from skilled homeopathic practitioners. This year is an important part of the full development of the homeopathic practitioner and many of our students graduate having already started their practices.

The Two Year Full Time course (October 2007 - June 2008):

• Two years to qualify, plus one or two full clinic days (practical training) a month from term two
• Runs from 10.30 am-5.15pm. Mondays to Wednesdays
• Involves time to study at home and/or in tutorial or study groups
• Licentiate of College of Practical Homeopathy (LCPH) awarded after successful completion of course.

In 2004 we introduced this unique Full Time course as a two year intensive programme in the art and science of practical homeopathy. (It covers more hours than the four year part time course).
This course is aimed specifically at people who want to become practicing homeopaths in 2 years. It is attracting people from all walks of life who prefer to study during the week, or who are visiting the UK for an extended period but who will be practicing in other countries.
It is also an attractive option for people who are considering a change of career (perhaps due to redundancy) and looking for a satisfying career that can be started at later stages in life.
The advantage of our FT course to anyone wanting to become a practitioner is that, while it takes fewer years to graduate, it involves more direct contact and learning time as well as a more significant clinical learning.
At least one third of the time will involve clinical activity in which the student deals directly with the client (after the first six months). We find this to be the best, maybe the only, way for the transfer of knowledge into a skill to be realised. We want our graduates to be successful in practice; otherwise the investment of time, money, energy is wasted.
This two year full time course will take attention, energy and effort – just like dealing with sick people in the real world. Our course is designed to make each individual fit to practice using their unique skill, talents and special abilities. Just as Homeopathy needs to be individual to cure, so any course has to be individual to be effective.

The CPH Distance E learning Programme (Starting October 2007- onwards):

• two to seven years to qualify
• study material via internet will comprise of written material, audio or visual presentations and contain assignments
• each student will have an assigned tutor and will be expected to have a phone supervision sessions using SKYPE
• membership of an e-forum
• involves time to study at own pace and place
• Licentiate of College of Practical Homeopathy (LCPH) awarded after successful completion of course.
• needs pc and broadband internet access

This course uses carefully selected, tried and tested teaching material from courses we have been running for over 20 years, with regularly updated material that enables thorough, enjoyable and practical based study. We have a comprehensive written material database so that all students receive module notes etc via electronic means.

Each year of the distance learning course has been divided into 4 Levels. Each level is divided into 10 integrated Modules consisting of a study manual which is includes study units, lecture notes, audio and video downloads, assignments and assessment programmes. Each Module consists of four integrated units based on our campus based practical training programmes. The Levels are:

1) The Foundation Course
2) Intermediate I
3) Intermediate II
4) Practitioner Licentiate Course.

Level 1 - The Foundation Course in Homeopathy

This consists of 10 Modules – each one mirroring the unique approach adopted at CPH that allows the rapid development of practical skills alongside the theoretical approaches taught – the only real way to learn. (Please note that Modules are based on a unique developmental approach that integrates different disciplines – e.g. Anatomy and Physiology are taught alongside clinical practice and therapeutics as appropriate - if you are looking at clients with respiratory problems you will be covering the lungs etc in A&P, appropriate remedies in therapeutics etc).

Information is provided in an integrated way which means by the end of The Foundation Level you will have a good understanding of what it means to be a homeopath and should have already started to see clients under supervision.

Duration of course – As distance learning is not tied to a lecture programme, students may work at whatever pace is suitable for them, setting their own targets. However as we are starting these courses in 2007 we are commencing with a pilot for a small number of students. We expect the minimum amount of time taken to complete all Levels will be two years but students will be able to study at their own pace and may take up to seven years in total to complete all four levels. We would expect the majority would complete within four years. Your personal tutor will assist you in achieving whatever goals you set.

Post Graduate Course MCPH in Iridology
(October 2007– June 2008)

The course is designed for homoeopaths who wish to use Iridology as a diagnostic tool in their practice. It provides:

• practical advice in eye examination, photography and record keeping strategies
• theoretical knowledge to the standard required for the 'Guild of Naturopathic Iridologists’ examination

Our Post Graduate Trainings have a strong emphasis upon participant involvement and learning through sharing of existing experiences and skills. There will be plenty of opportunity for discussion. Teaching will be holistic, integrating Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology, and other complementary disciplines emphasizing the interdependence of all the parts and systems of the human being. Students should be aware that the course tutors are committed to the examination of ‘live’ eyes as their primary teaching strategy and will seek to maximize clinical hours with real patients.

Participants who complete the course will receive the MCPH in Iridology as a diagnostic tool (subject to satisfactory attendance, practical competence, five case studies and one special area of study chosen by the student).

The course will comprise of eight integrated weekend workshops.

• Each weekend will run from 10am to 4.30pm on both days.
• There will be 2 workshops per day and each weekend will have a clear theme.
• Workshops will be led by experienced practitioners and facilitators.
• The workshops will be themed on issues that Homeopaths will be encountering on a regular basis in their practice. They will give participants a chance to examine ‘live eyes’ on a regular basis and where possible in clinical prescribing situations, either through bringing their own patients or linking to College Student Clinics.
• This will enable review of past and present cases they have dealt with, and to share, discuss and challenge each other in a very supportive environment
• In addition to this individual students may choose to sit 'The Guild of Naturopathic Iridologists’ examination.

The Course Leaders will be Marion and Peter Joyce who run a busy and successful clinic in Chelmsford combining Homoeopathy and Iridology.

All the weekends will take place at the College of Practical Homeopathy.

• Places are limited to 14 graduates.
